¡á Establishes a solid foundation by supplying for Japanese ISDB-T type cellular phones
¡á Secures steady growth and lucrative mobile phone market, which has the largest demand
for mobile TV
June 19, 2007 (Seoul) = C&S Technology (CEO Seung-mo Seo, www.cnstec.com), a total solution company for multimedia broadcasting & communication, announced that it launched on supplying ¡®TRITON¡¯- a mobile multimedia chip for mobile TV phones – to Samsung Electronics, which is the largest mobile phone company in Korea.
¡®TRITON¡¯ is used for ISDB-T type cellular phones, which are the export model of Samsung Electronics for Japan, and Samsung is known to have already started full-scale production and export to Japan. C&S has steadily developed solutions suitable for domestic DMB market as well as cellular phones in Japan and Europe. After a close and strict examination, Samsung approved the product, which enabled C&S to launch on the mobile phone market for the first time.
The market for mobile TV device is expanding by diversifying its types into navigation, MP3 player, and complex devices, etc; among these, the largest and the most rapidly expanding market is that for cellular phones. C&S forecasted that due to the great volume of the cellular phone market, and the need to cooperate with the cellular phone company from the early stage of the project, the company expects substantial growth of sales and stable business by supplying its products to Samsung.
Supplying its chip to Samsung in this cutthroat market where only a handful of suppliers grasp limited opportunities to supply their parts to the manufacturers suggests that C&S has increased its possibility to expand business with mobile manufacturers, not to mention, that the company becomes acknowledged with its quality of products and technological competency.
C&S became the first Korean company that exports its chips for the Japanese automobile devices since last September, and this time, by expanding its supply to mobile phone manufacturer this time, the company takes the chance to gain its fame in Japan with its technology in mobile TV chip. The company also plans to expand its cooperation with the global mobile phone manufactures by developing the convergence mobile TV solution which is compatible for Korean, Japanese, and European standards.
Seung-mo Seo, CEO of the company, commented that launching on the cellular phone market would be a foundation for improving business performance, and that the company would focus on expanding its supply to various mobile phone models such as European DVB-H phone as well as domestic models by strengthening its partnership with both domestic and global cellular phone manufacturers.
