¡á C&S¡¯ multimedia chip will take precedence to be applied to the market-leading next generation terminal

¡á Expected to increase the demand due to the replacement of IC card type bank terminals

July 5, 2007 (Seoul) = C&S Technology (KSE A038880), a digital multimedia communication and broadcasting total solution provider, announced on July 5 that it concluded an MOU with Posdata to develop and commercialize the next-generation terminals where C&S multimedia chip is preferentially mounted, to lead the Multi Player Over Place (MpOp) market

MpOp is the market for the next generation IT-based all-in-one digital machine led by Posdata. It is based on the concept of ubiquitous that converges the spatial scope of users with mobile communication technology through the development and proliferation of multiplayer digital devices, which combine functions of individual devices. The next-generation device, T9, is a must-have tool in the high value added market that leads the initiative to create a market.

Both C&S and Posdata intend to jointly carry out the next-generation terminal development and other terminal development businesses by building a strategic, cooperative relationship and sharing roadmaps for new developments of two companies not to mention chips and products launched.

In particular, Posdata will preferentially adopt multimedia chips developed or to be developed by C&S for its terminal development and commercialization businesses. Therefore, C&S explained that it would supply solutions relating to Internet telephone chip, Cronus, which can be mounted to Posdata¡¯s new terminals and other products.

The alliance between two companies is attributed to the expected replacement demand and market expansion of bank terminals now in service. Current bank terminals adopt magnetic tapes, but IC cards will replace the magnetic tapes by 2008 in accordance with government policies. Against this backdrop, Posdata decided to join hands with C&S which has excellent chip technology in the course of pressing ahead with the next generation terminal business that will lead the MpOp market.

C&S Technology CEO Seo Seung Mo said, ¡°The alliance with Posdata provides an opportunity to advance into various terminal markets and contribute to the diversification of chip supply channels.
